Rental property occupied by family member of the 1^st degree of consanguinity is exempt from the City of Davenport's Rental Inspection Program.

Complete and submit the form below to register a rental property, whether rent is paid or not, occupied by a family member of the 1st degree of consanguinity to record the property and exemption from the City's Rental Inspection Program in City records.  Details about who qualifies as a family member of the 1st degree of consanguinity can be found at this link - https://ethics.iowa.gov/sites/default/files/consanguinity_chart_2021.pdf.

Any changes in occupancy may result in the property returning to the rental inspection program.   Changes in occupancy must be reported to Development and Neighborhood Services at 563.326.6198. Failure to notify the Development & Neighborhood Services may result in operating a rental property without a license and can result in significant fines.

Be sure to have the City of Davenport utility on hand before beginning this submission. You will need the customer # and account # of your City utility account to submit this form. 

By completing and submitting this form, I attest that I understand this form exempts the property from the ‘Rental Property’ distinction.  I further understand that it is my responsibility to notify the Development & Neighborhood Services of any changes in occupancy when they occur.  Any changes in occupancy may result in the property returning to the rental inspection program.  Failure to notify the Development & Neighborhood Services may result in operating a rental property without a license and can result in significant fines.
