The Davenport Fire Department Fire Safety House was purchased in June of 1995. Funding was made possible by private business contributions (Mel Foster & Ronald McDonald Charities) and grants from the River Boat Development Authority. The Fire Safety House is 8 feet wide 28 feet long 11 feet 6 inches high and has a gross total weight of 9400 lbs.
To date, the Fire Safety House has educated over 90,000 visitors, to include most every elementary school in Davenport. The three largest events of the year include The Mississippi Valley Fair, Kids Day America, and Kids Fest. Adults are always welcome and encouraged to tour the house.
The Fire Safety House is intended for use at events being held by non for profits, schools, and churches hosting at minimum 100 kids. Please consider that before putting in a request.
